Calling All Craftsmen! The Pinewood Derby car kits are here.
Get out the band saws, sandpaper and paint. It is time for the Great Coastal Nation annual Pinewood Derby. This is a great nation event and time for fathers and sons to work together to build a lifelong memory.
The tribal chiefs have the car kits.
This years $20.00 fee includes one kit and race entry. The fee must be paid to your chief in order to race even if you have an old kit from a previous year.

2nd Grade | Check In 12:45 pm | Race 1:15 pm
1st Grade | Check In 1:30 pm | Race 2:00 pm
Kindergarten | Check In 2:15 pm | Race 2:45 pm
Check-in for each race closes at race time. We can’t handle late check-ins, so once the race starts, check-in ends.
Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies will be awarded in each age group for fastest cars, most original cars and best indian cars. Every brave receives a medal and a patch.
Registration: The cost is $20 for the car and registration, but all participants need to be pre-registered through their tribe. Chiefs, please forward final lists for each of your participating braves to the nation chief when you pay for the cars. For each brave we’ll need a name, tribe, and class (K, 1st, 2nd, etc.) We’ll need the participant lists by Monday, February 22, so that we have time to load it into the scoring database.
Rules: I have attached a draft of the 2010 rules. We’ve simplified the rules and taken out some language that is outdated. The intent is for the 2010 rules to consistently reflect the way we have run the race over the last few years. Any concerns or comments on the rules, let me know ASAP.
There will a concessions service and a practice track available. We expect good weather but we’ll be able to race rain or shine.

Need a whole new kit? I have extra kits for $7 each, kit only. No entrance fee, patch, certificate, etc.
Have a son that made the car all by himself? Let me know the story. I have a Nation Chief Award for one brave that assembled, painted, stickered, glued the car with little or no help.
